Sherry-Lee Watson is a proud Arrernte actress from Alice Springs, Northern Territory, whose compelling performances are reshaping Australian screen narratives. Sherry-Lee embarked on her artistic journey at 14, moving to Melbourne to study at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre.

Sherry-Lee’s career gained significant momentum with her role as Missy in Netflix's Heartbreak High reboot, a series that reintroduced the iconic Australian drama to a new generation. Her portrayal of Missy, a character navigating the complexities of adolescence and identity, resonated deeply with audiences. In recognition of her outstanding performance, Sherry-Lee received the inaugural Screen Star of the Year award at the 2024 Pedestrian Television Awards .

In 2024, Sherry-Lee took on the role of Robyn in Stan’s original series Thou Shalt Not Steal, directed by Dylan River, opposite Miranda Otto and Noah Taylor, and premiered at Toronto International a Film Festival. The series follows Robyn, a young Indigenous woman from Alice Springs, who escapes from detention and embarks on a journey across the outback. The character's background closely mirrors Sherry-Lee’s own, with both sharing family ties to Jay Creek in the Northern Territory. This role further showcased Sherry-Lee’s depth and versatility as an actress. Her performance earned her a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Drama at the 2025 AACTA Awards, alongside esteemed peers Deborah Mailman, Leah Purcell & Phoebe Tonkin.

As one of Australia’s most exciting up and coming actresses, Sherry-Lee has also shot for iconic Australian publications such as Vogue Australia and Side-Note. She remains a powerful voice for Indigenous representation in Australian media.
